The GEL-KINSEI 5 takes the series in an exciting new direction, representing the cutting edge in the ASICS Cushioning category where early adopters can experience the latest in running technology. This edition manages to reduce the shoe’s weight considerably. It also introduces a new upper of FluidFit two-direction stretch mesh, which combines with the External Heel Counter and Discrete Eyestay Construction to create a luxurious glove-like fit. The Full Length Guidance Line and a Propulsion Trusstic work together to promote a more efficient gait, create a smooth impact to toe-off transition and assist your foot in propelling you forward. Of course the GEL-KINSEI 5 also includes both Forefoot and Rearfoot GEL to provide a fantastic cushioned ride.

Impact Guidance System (I.G.S.) - ASICS® design philosophy that employs linked componentry to enhance the foot's natual gait from heel strike to toe-off.
Clutch Counter - Exoskeletal heel counter provides improved support and creates improved heel fitting environment.
Propulsion Trusstic - Mimics connective tissue in the foot by creating tension as foot enters propulsion stage.
Biomorphic Fit upper - Stretch material strategically placed on the upper helps to reduce buckling and the potential for irritation.
Guidance Line® - Vertical flex groove decouples the tooling along the line of progression for enhanced gait efficiency.
Rearfoot and Forefoot GEL® Cushioning System - Attenuates shock during impact and toe-off phases, and allows movement in multiple planes as the foot transitions through the gait cycle.
Removable Sockliner - EVA sockliner moulded to the shape of the foot, which can be removed to accommodate a medical orthotic.
