Yonex's new EZONE DR range features Nanometric DR, a material developed by Toray Industries for spacecrafts. Applied to the racket, this material increases ball speed by 7% compared to graphite only constructions. This is achieved by increasing the flexural strength by 15% over graphite only frame (6.5% over EZONE Ai range). The result is that get a racket that flexes more and snaps back quicker for dynamic power and better stability.
Like the EZONE DR 98, its lighter version is still a control-oriented racket. However, it responds to the need for power in modern game of tennis through high-tech material. It also features Quick Shut Gel at the handle and shockless grommets at the bottom of the racket head (6 o'clock position) for a comfortable feel.
This racket has the specifications well suited for an all-round game. It is mid-weight with head-light balance that is easy to swing, while its combination of control and feel, combined with easy access to power is hard to beat for any experienced player should they wish for a mid-light weight racket.
