    A BRIEF POTTED HISTORY:
    We are tennisnuts.com (formerly A.M.T Sports) , specialists in racket sports and stringing , trading for nearly 30 years.

    The company originally started in a small store in Northwood Hills. followed by another store in Southgate. The mail order brochure (tennis, badminton and squash) was introduced in 1997. We were one of the pioneers of specialist Mail Ordering for sports. We were also one of the first companies to start a website, which was a natural progression from our mail order brochure. We are the original "multi-channel" retailer, with a number of original store customers ordering on-line and vice versa, with a lot of our on-line customers popping into the store for a proper feel. Although the majority of our trade is now on the Internet, at least you can phone us, or pop into the store. This works realy well as all our staff in-store and on customer service lines are from a racket sports playing background. Please note that if you need something specific in store, then its best to check first the day before, as we can usually transfer goods on a daily basis. We are quite happy to have specific items ready for people to look at without any obligation to buy.

    WAREHOUSING AND FULFILMENT:

    • We have recently expanded our capacity, moving to a very modern facility in Amersham.
    • How many times do you read on websites 'The biggest in Europe'...well, in our case this is certainly true for the range of clothing, equipment and shoes that we offer. We certainly offer the largest ranges of Nike, Adidas, Yonex, Fila, Fred Perry, Wilson and Lacoste clothing for tennis, badminton and squash. We try not to 'cherry pick' by stocking just a few popular rackets, but try and provide a complete specialist service.
    • We charge the same prices in the shops and for mail order and the Internet. We also have hundreds of regular special offers and some of the lowest, most competitive prices in the U.K.
    • Because we are an integrated business, we actually stock all the items we offer. We also try and keep the website updated with all sizes that are in stock (or not), but at certain times of the year, there can be a time lag, in which case we will offer an alternative, or inform you of non availability and NOT charge your credit card.
    • You can always check with any of the manufacturers that we are an authorised dealer...beware websites that offer silly prices for current stock...they will not have the stock and will keep you hanging for weeks. Also beware fakes, of which there are some good ones around at present!

    PLAYING PEDIGREE:

    The company was originally started by Ajay Thaker and Manish Thaker. Both are directors of the company (AMT SPORTS LTD). Both the directors have a fairly good playing and participating pedigree in Badminton, Tennis and Squash. Both played badminton for Middlesex juniors at the old Orion Hall in North London, followed by extensive careers in a number of clubs and leagues in the Middlesex area. The level for a number of years was Middlesex Div 1 plus a few good tournament results ie just below top county level. As the dodgy knees started kicking in....tennis started taking priority over badminton at a number of clubs, mainly South Hampstead and Eastcote (at premier or intermediate level) and keeping fit with squash at the Herga Club.

    Ajay (based at Amersham) now plays badminton and tennis at the Riverside club in Northwood and Manish (based at Northwood) plays tennis at Hazelwood LTC, the David Lloyd club in Bushey and badminton with YLA in Bushey. All those years of accumulated knowledge and experiance in this specialist business which now consists of a flagship store in Northwood Hills, a mail order brochure and of course, the website. We are one of the biggest specialist racket businesses in the UK.

    KEY CUSTOMER SERVICE STAFF (based at Amersham 01494 373004):

    • Ashish Jamie Thaker, Customer Services manager, is the budding tennis pro (but with a proper day job!), who plays tennis at Riverside (Northwood).The best tennis player at tennisnuts!     KNOWLEDGABLE STAFF

    All staff are from a sporting or retail background, are extremely knowledgeable and helpful and are only too happy to give you any advice you may need. You can phone customer services (01494 373004) or the store (01923 827637) at any time to either check stock or get advice.

    We can advise on everything from 'power' rackets to 'control' rackets , racket flexes and stringing tensions.

    We have rackets to suit every playing style and budget.

    We try out ALL the rackets that we sell , so we can give first hand opinions of them.

    We also use the feedback from our 'associated coaches' , who get their racket contracts through us.

    We have coaches on contracts with ALL the main racket suppliers.

    FULL STRINGING AND REGRIPPING SERVICE:

    We provide a full stringing service , using electronic machines to give exact tensions across a range of about 30 different types of strings.

    TOURNAMENT SUPPORT:

    We are involved in supporting a number of local tennis tournaments and junior events.

    We supply balls for these at special prices and prize vouchers etc.

    CLUB SUPPORT:

    Both stores are involved in a number of discount schemes for various clubs at a local level.

  • UK DELIVERY CHARGES

    Standard Delivery Charges:

    • FREE delivery on all orders over £50 (UK Mainland only - See **Exceptions). Charge of £5 for all orders under £50. UK delivery will normally be within 2 to 4 working days from receipt of order.

      **Exceptions 1: Isle of Man, Isle of Wight & Channel Islands, the delivery charge is £10 for parcels over 1kg and £5 for parcels under 1kg (FREE delivery for orders over £100). Delivery will normally be within 2 to 4 working days from receipt of order.

      **Exceptions 2: Scottish Highlands and Islands, Isles of Scilly and Northern Ireland the delivery charge is £7 for parcels over 1kg and £3 for parcels under 1 kg (FREE delivery for orders over £100). Delivery will normally be within 2 to 4 working days from receipt of order.

    ROYAL MAIL AND PARCELFORCE T & C's:

    • 2. Delivery to a UK addresses. Parcel Force do not deliver to UK PO Boxes.
    • 2.8.1. the Customer acknowledges and agrees that Parcelforce Worldwide may at its discretion(i)attempt to deliver the Consignment to a neighbouring address within a reasonable distance of the delivery address; or (ii)leave it for collection at a Post Office® branch selected by Parcelforce Worldwide.
    • 2.8.2. If Parcelforce Worldwide is able to deliver the Consignment to a neighbouring address or leaves it for collection at a Post Office® branch, then a Customer Contact Card shall be left at the specified address; and
    • 2.8.3. the Customer agrees that delivery to such neighbouring address shall constitute delivery to the address specified as the delivery address in the despatch documentation or on the Parcel.

    PAYMENT FOR UK ORDERS

    1. EITHER buy securely 'on-line' with payment by credit, debit card or PayPal. Our site uses the latest encryption technology, allowing you to use your cards with confidence. We do not even see your details, we are just told whether the card is accepted or not.
    2. Or Ring the mail order hotline with your order (01494 373004). We have been dealing with phone orders for over 20 years.
    3. Or just VISIT our store at Northwood Hills and we will supply the goods at the same price as quoted on the site. PLUS you can get a 5% CLUB discount (excluding balls, shuttles and machines) in-store, just mention the website and ask for your 5%.

    We can set up your club discount if has not already been set up.

    OVERSEAS DELIVERY CHARGES (excludes table tennis tables)(Weight limit of 1 kg).

    PAYMENT FOR OVERSEAS ORDERS

    • 1.Please ensure that the delivery address is the same as the address for your credit card. We will not deliver to any other address.

      The cheaper rates below apply to orders under 1 Kg only (small items). Where the order exceeds that weight, or for larger parcels, YOU MUST PICK THE CORRECT OPTION (for weight over 1 Kg). Otherwise we will have to e-mail you to confirm additional charges to your order where the weight exceeds your chosen option. If you are ordering small items say 2 shirts, then this would be under 1 Kg....but for example:

      • All Rackets (tennis, badminton or squash are OVER 3 Kg (including the packaging).
      • ANY racket plus a sports bag would be over 3 Kg.
      • All shoes are over 1 Kg.
      • If you have selected the wrong delivery method (i.e Under 1kg and item is a tennis racket) we will take the extra postage cost from the payment method upon dispatch.
      • Please note that to comply with our trading terms with Asics, Brooks and Saucony these shoes cannot be shipped outside the EU.

    Goods out of stock or partly available We carry huge stocks , but if an item is out of stock we will contact you giving you an estimate for delivery time. We will give you the option to either accept partial delivery normally , or to cancel the order for a full refund. You can choose to either take a partial refund for the out of stock item OR accept late delivery.

    It is your responsibility to ensure that the items are sent back using a safe and secure method. Refunds will be given within 30 days of cancellation. An exception to this policy is where training has been given for using stringing machines and these have been tried. We DO NOT accept responsibility for lost or damaged goods.

    NB If all the goods are returned, and no postage was charged by us originally, we reserve the right to charge the customer for the original postage.

    Acknowledgement of orders:
    We will acknowledge all orders by e-mail, or by post where an e-mail address is not available.

    Damaged or incomplete goods recieved:
    Incomplete orders or items missing from order on receipt of order OR goods damaged in transit... We MUST be notified within 3 working days of any discrepancy between goods recieved and any documentation. Any problems cannot be resolved after this period.

    ALL DELIVERIES MUST BE SIGNED FOR.
    Notification of Despatch and non-reciept of goods We will send a tracking number for all despatches. It is your duty to notify us (in writing or by email) within 14 days of non-reciept of goods that we have despatched

  • We provide consistently low prices throughout our ranges. They are some of the most competitive prices in the UK (especially for tennis, badminton and squash rackets.

    We aim to price-match 95% of our competitors (UK based genuine websites only) prices, but will not match all silly offers. The goods being price matched must be in stock with that competitor and we will check that. It is far too easy to quote silly price for something that is not in stock!

    We also aim to to provide a constantly changing range of SPECIAL OFFERS.

    Also , because we stock ALL the major brands , we do not have a particular axe to grind...we provide unbiased advice and product reviews.

    Comparison to the USA - Are tennis rackets REALLY cheaper in the States ?

    They probably are...If you are OVER THERE and find a discount tennis specialist , and do not have to worry about VAT , Duty and delivery charges..

    We have done some careful research…and here are our findings:

    All US rackets come unstrung , but you can get a very cheap string thrown in for the price.

    ALL UK rackets come strung , with mostly very good string quality and tension.

    Most US sites sell at the full RRP in $.

    You have to pay DUTY (9%) + VAT (17.5%) on receipt of the goods in the UK.

    Delivery charges are anything from $25 to $40.

    P.S. Most US sites do not currently ship outside the US anyway ! In fact , we have shipped quite a few rackets to the states esp the ones that are only available in Europe.

    RETURNS & REFUNDS POLICY / CANCELLATION RIGHTS

    If you are not happy with the products received , within 28 working days of receiving the goods , simply return the items AS NEW & UNUSED to our AMERSHAM address. The goods must be in their original condition, including all packaging, eg shoes to be returned inside the original shoe box. It is your responsibility to ensure that the items are sent back using a secure and traceable method. You must also take reasonable care of the goods. Any used items will not be accepted under any circumstances.

    An exception to this policy is where training has been given for using stringing machines and the machine has been used and tried in the meantime. Also...If all goods are returned, and no postage was charged by us originally, we reserve the right to charge the customer for the original postage.

    Refunds (excluding postage) will be given within 30 days of cancellation. We will only refund the postage back to you IF WE have made a mistake, e.g. sent out the incorrect size.

    Returning Faulty Items: Please ensure that you inform us of any damage to goods at the time of receiving them as soon as possible to avoid any delays in receiving a replacement or refund. It is the customers responsibility to send faulty items back using a safe and secure method.

    For large items we can arrange an uplift which we will charge at cost. (tennisnuts.com accept no responsibility for the postage back for faulty item.)

    Exchanges: Please state clearly the PRODUCT CODE, NAME, AND SIZE of any exchange items. It is your responsibility to ensure that the items are sent back using a secure and traceable method. You must also take reasonable care of the goods.**

    Demo Rackets: Demo rackets are sent out by arrangement only. We send out a new racket which is protected on the HEAD and the HANDLE. The actual demo should only last 10-15 mins and we expect the racket to be returned in good condition. There will be £10 per racket demo fee deducted on return of demo rackets (by arrangement). Unstrung rackets taken on demo will attract a further non-refundable charge for the strings chosen. Demo rackets should be returned within 7 working days of receipt. In the event of the returned racket being found damaged, we reserve the right to deduct a suitable amount as the racket would have to be sold as an ex-demo.

    RETURNS DOCUMENTATION

    You can print off a RETURNS FORM HERE (pdf). You must send this with your returned items. AMT Sports advises that you send your returned items back to us via some form of recorded delivery so that we have to sign for it. This means that if your parcel is lost in the post you will then be able to claim from the carrier for the goods that were lost. If you return your parcel via a form of delivery that is not guaranteed then AMT SPORTS will not accept responsibility if the parcel is lost or damaged.

    If you are returning an item using a printed returns label supplied by us, you must ensure that you take a proof of posting from the Post Office. In the event that the parcel goes missing and no proof of postage was taken the customer is liable for the cost.

    Exchanges:Please state clearly the PRODUCT CODE, NAME, AND SIZE of any exchange items. It is your responsibility to ensure that the items are sent back using a safe and secure method. You must also take reasonable care of the goods.

    UNACCEPTABLE RETURNS

    If you return an item to us outside of the terms of our returns policy and your statutory rights do not apply we may not refund you. The item may be returned to you at your expense and you will be notified of this and any other charges. If you choose to send the item back to us again, or refuse to accept delivery, this will be deemed as an irreversible instruction for us to dispose of your goods without further notice. This will not constitute any admission that we have failed to honour in full our obligations to you in full and will not constitute any unlawful action against the goods.

    ANTI-FRAUD MEASURES

    We operate a strict security check procedure, to ensure your credit card details are being used by only you. This may occasionally delay the dispatch of your items for any of the following reasons.

    1. Your order is being delivered to an address other than that registered to your credit card.
    2. Your card details are not available for address verification from the Bank (usually cards registered overseas)
    3. Your card details have failed the address verification from the Bank.
    4. The security number on the reverse of the card has been entered incorrectly.
    5. The order is for delivery overseas.
    6. Higher value orders are more likely to be checked more thoroughly.

    In the event of your order being held for any of the reasons above, one of our representatives will contact you within 24 hours of placing your order (excluding weekends) by phone or email.

    You may then be asked to fax us confirmation of you details, change the delivery address, confirm by post your billing address or use different card details. We cannnot be held responsible for any delay on your goods and the order will not be considered confirmed until you have verified your details with us. Next Day orders will be sent on a Next Day service only when your details have been checked and confirmed

    The terms and conditions described here do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

    FREE Standard Service: TWO man delivery service includes individual pre booking with AM or PM slot indication the day before delivery. Delivery is between 7 - 10 working days after placing your order.

    For all junior tables, FREE standard service is ONE man delivery only and includes pre booking with AM or PM slot indication the day before delivery. Delivery is between 7 - 10 working days after placing your order.

    24 Hour delivery can be arranged by phone only by phoning 01494 373004 for an extra charge of £25.(and for XMAS will be available till the 21st Dec by arrangement only)

    All the standard terms and conditions for tables set out below also apply.

    NB The above T & C's only apply to UK Mainland...Northern Ireland is excluded for this purpose.

    CORNILLEAU TABLE TERMS AND CONDITIONS

    FREE Standard Service: Delivery on these Table Tennis Tables is currently running at approx 5 Working days. Normal delivery is free to U.K. mainland addresses. The 24 hr service is not available on these tables.

    NB The above T & C's only apply to UK Mainland...Northern Ireland is excluded for this purpose.

    Avanti Express will make contact with you to arrange a mutually convenient delivery date. Neither tennisnuts nor our transporters give any guarantee on time or date of delivery, but will endeavour to arrange delivery at a convenient time with you. Avanti will contact you by telephone or email and pre-book the delivery at a day and time (2 hour slot) to suit you. Deliveries take place between 7am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. There are no weekend deliveries. It is standard procedure that the driver will ring you directly to advise of any delays on his delivery route. The delivery service provided is to a room of your choice but it is your responsibility to ensure that goods ordered can be delivered and will fit into the property and that any entranceways, hallways, corridors etc are wide enough for the goods to pass through. The delivery personnel may refuse to carry the table up steps if the access is restricted and/or the carton will not fit through the available space.

    PLEASE NOTE: IF OUR CARRIER ARRIVES TO DELIVER YOUR TABLE(S) ON YOUR PRE-AGREED DELIVERY DAY AND THERE IS NOBODY AVAILABLE AT THE ADDRESS TO ACCEPT THE DELIVERY, OR WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN AN INCORRECT OR INACCESSIBLE ADDRESS, ANY SUBSEQUENT DELIVERY WILL BE RE-CHARGEABLE TO YOU AT £49.70 + VAT PER TABLE.

    Inspect: You are responsible for checking the condition of the item(s) delivered and must highlight any issues upon receipt with the carrier. The signature of the person accepting delivery at the delivery address will be proof that you or the person to whom the order is addressed has received and accepted delivery.

    Damaged Goods on Arrival: If the goods are damaged then you should refuse the delivery and ask the driver to reload them on to his vehicle. You must then notify your retailer within 24 hours so that arrangements can be made for replacement goods to be delivered.

    TENNISNUTS WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY CLAIM WHATSOEVER FOR EITHER DAMAGE OR MISSING PARTS, UNLESS YOU HAVE FOLLOWED THE ABOVE PROCEDURES AND NOTIFIED US VERBALLY NO LATER THAN 24 HRS AFTER DELIVERY WITH WRITTEN CONFIRMATION WITHIN 72 HRS.

    Assembly/Use/Safety: If you have added Assembly to your order then you must provide a suitable, clean and dry location in which the delivery personnel can assemble the table. Please read carefully all the safety notices and the assembly instructions provided with the table and also ensure that they are brought to the attention of all other table users. Before using the table, you should check all the locks, moving parts, nuts and adjustments.

    After Sales: All our tables are supplied with detailed assembly instructions and a comprehensive spare parts list. Please keep these safe for future reference so that you can quote the appropriate part number when ordering any spares

    TABLE ASSEMBLY

    You can also choose to have the table assembled for an additional payment of £48 (incl VAT). For this, the table will be delivered, assembled, placed in situ and all the packaging removed at the same time. You need to ring 01494 373004 to arrange this extra service.

    STANDARD TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR ALL GAMES TABLES.

    • Delivery for these tables is arranged directly with our suppliers, who use a third party delivery company to deliver the tables. Should a table arrive late or damaged, we cannot accept responsibility for the failure of a third party. We will endeavor to resolve any problems as quickly as possible, however when we are dealing with a third party we are dependant on their response and co-operation.
    • If you wish to cancel an order, you must inform us by phone (01494 373004). If the order has already been sent out before your phone call, then we will await the safe return of the table, before we arrange a refund. This will incur a delivery charge of £100 for the delivery AND the return.
    • There will be charge of £100 for all MISSED or REFUSED deliveries.
    • If the courier attempts to deliver outside the pre-arranged time, then they should leave a calling card for you to re-schedule the delivery. In this case only there will be no additional delivery charge.
    • If a table is delivered and unwanted, it must be unopened and in its original packaging. We will arrange collection and refund you the cost of the table less the cost of delivery (this may vary), plus the cost of collection which is £100.00.
    • It is the customers duty to advise us of any possible delivery difficulties like restrited access. Good access to the point of delivery must be possible, as a large vehicle will be used. If access is not possible or is impaired, then the cancelled orders charge of £100 will apply.
    • DAMAGED GOODS - PLEASE INSPECT GOODS WITHIN 24 HOURS OF RECEIPT AND ADVISE US WITHIN THIS TIME IF GOODS ARE DAMAGED. UNFORTUNATLEY OUR CARRIERS CANNOT ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR DAMAGES REPORTED BEYOND THIS PERIOD OF TIME. WE DO NOT ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR DAMAGED GOODS IN TRANSIT BY A THIRD PARTY.
    • A table damaged after use may be returned for inspection by the manufacturer. This can only be done by prior arrangement with us (01494 373004). This may incur a delivery charge.
  • COMPLAINTS HANDLING

    We endeavour to respond to complaints within 5 working days. All complaints will be dealt with by a senior employee and will be dealt with fairly and confidentially.

    Any changes that need to be made to our procedures as a result will be carried out swiftly.
