Dampeners attach to the strings of your tennis racket to cut out vibrations reaching your arm, to increase comfort and aid the prevention of tennis elbow. Available in all sorts of shapes, designs and colours, they may also be used by players as a fashion accessory. There are two main types of dampeners. The first are the standard circular dampeners which sit inside a single square of the racket stringbed. The other type are much longer and are designed to weave through multiple strings in order to dampen more of the vibration.
