The first thing to consider when choosing a new head tennis racket is to identify your swing style.
Players with long, fast, loopy swings generally prefer rackets with less power, whereas players with shorter, slower swings generally prefer rackets with more power to compensate for the shorter swing. Choose the racket that is right for YOUR game, not anyone else's!
POWER SERIES For players with short compact swing speeds wanting to maximize their power. Head Rating S4 TO S10. tennisnuts power levels 8,9,10.
WOMENS SERIES Specifically developed rackets for the woman who is apssionate about her game. Head Rating L1 TO S5. tennisnuts power levels 7,8,9..
TEAM SERIES For players seeking the best of both worlds - Tour control with added pop and maneauverability. Head Rating L4 TO S2. tennisnuts power levels 5,6,7..
TOUR SERIES For aggressive, competitive players with a long fast swing speed. Head Rating L6 TO L3. tennisnuts power levels 1,2,3,4..
If you want a supremely comfortable , light , very user friendly racket...just go for one of the POWER series rackets. A lot of good players and coaches get quite sniffy about these big rackets , but they bring joy to the majority of club and recreational players.
If you are a reasonable club player and hit the ball quite well...but still want all the advantages of a modern , fairly light racket which is not TOO powerful...then pick one of the 'TEAM' series rackets.
If you are a hard hitting advanced player...then you probably know what you want...and will head straight for the 'TOUR' series of rackets.
If you take a big swing and hit the ball hard yourself, or you are an accomplished player, you need a control racket (tennisnuts power levels 1,2,3,4).
If you have a short swing, and need help in hitting the ball, or want a very comfortable, easy to use racket, choose a power racket (tennisnuts power levels 8,9,10).
If you are a reasonable club player, or you need a good mixture of power and control, go for something in between (tennisnuts power levels 5,6,7).
